Charlotte, NC-based entrepreneur Rick Siskey knows first-hand that a success story without a little adversity makes for a flat narrative. It’s almost embedded in the human psyche to want to know that someone who’s achieved success has had to struggle as well. It helps the unattainable seem within arms’ reach, says Siskey.
According to Rick Siskey, perseverance is the key to “make it” in business. After three decades of service in the financial services industry, Siskey has worked with a myriad of clients who have overcome challenges. He believes that individuals who can successfully navigate problems maintain a much greater chance of reaching their goals.
Over the years, Rick Siskey has learned to embrace what he calls the “elephant principle.” He explains, “You cannot eat the proverbial elephant in one big bite.” So, says Siskey, the important thing is to maintain a strategy where tasks are feasible. According to Rick Siskey, tenacity in work – and relationships – is what’s needed to be able to survive moments of adversity.
